CHARLEVOIX -- New details are available on a murder that happened Sunday in Charlevoix County.
Court records show 74-year-old Sandra Gregory has confessed to killing her 94-year-old mother Amelia Gregory. The records say she first tried to suffocate her with a pillow, but when her mother struggled she hit her over the head with a lamp.
Sandra then called a friend saying, "I did something bad".
That friend contacted another family friend, who arrived at the house and called 911. This is a transcription of the 911 call:
Dispatcher – “What’s going on?”
Caller – “There’s a death, and I need somebody here.”
Dispatcher – “Ok, and you guys don’t want to try CPR?”
Caller – “No. It’s Sandra Gregory’s house and her mother (can’t tell)”
Records also show Sandra told police that her mother had vision problems and rather than going to a nursing home, she wanted to be with her deceased husband.
Sandra Gregory's preliminary examination is set for April 12th.
