ROGERS CITY, MI -- March is reading month and one local principal made a pact with her students; if they read up, she'll perk up.
Principal Katy Makowski lived up to her bargain and kissed a pig and liked it, well, maybe.
She made a deal with her Rogers City Elementary kids which was if they set reading goals this month and meet them, she'll give the pig a peck.
"Oh the kids really deserved it. They work very hard during reading month, and they up'ed their goals, they met and exceeded their goals, so in all fairness, I had to kiss the pig, the pig, is a little stinky," said Makowski.
Kids performed a song for their parents called "Gotta Keep Reading" to the tune of a Black Eyed Peas song to end reading month..
Makowski said the month has been a success.
