Shooting in Mancelona believed to be accident.
MANCELONA -- The Antrim County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened Saturday at a home on Roberts Road in Mancelona. They say two men were cleaning and working on handguns when one of the guns went off. Thomas Gaudette III was shot in the groin area, the bullet stuck in his leg. He was rushed to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City with critical injuries.
Investigators say the men were friends and the other man's gun is the one that ended up firing and hitting Gaudette. They say he was field stripping the gun when it went off. Investigators say they think the shooting was an accident.
