FIFE LAKE -- The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office was called to a bar fight in Fife Lake early Wednesday morning. When police arrived on scene, they were told a 23-year old man involved in the fight left and went to a nearby house.

When police got to the house, the man went outside and discharged a shotgun. Investigators also learned he possibly threatened a female and two children that were inside the residence.

The man would not respond to the officer's attempts to communicate with him, so a perimeter was established. Officers were able to speak with the woman and helped her and the children exit the home safely.

After eight hours, the man finally surrendered. He was taken to Munson Medical Center for injuries from the bar fight. He was arrested and charged with domestic violence, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and child endangerment.
