Cherry Festival goes green for St. Patty's Day

TRAVERSE CITY -- The National Cherry Festival is going green for St. Patrick's Day!

You won't need the luck of the Irish - just a happy go lucky attitude for the first ever St. Patty's 5-k run. Racers will be lacing up their running shoes Saturday for the family fun event.

Runners will not only be judged on their time ... but also the best Irish dressed!

The finish party will feature live music and entertainment. Runners will be encouraged to dress for the occasion - Irish costumes and green attire.

Awards will be presented to the top finishers and to the Best Irish Dressed participants!

Race Details:
Saturday, March 12 at 9AM in the Downtown Warehouse District.

Late registration is available at Packet Pick Up and the morning of the race (7:30-8:30AM) for $35. Race Participants will receive:

*Commemorative shirt *Official timing *Complimentary beverage (Beer for those 21 and up) *Two FREE Gibby's Mouse Ears (mini elephant ears) *Dried cherries and other snacks *Medals for top finishers and best dressed Irish costume

Guinness Post-Race Party is from 9AM-12PM in the Downtown Warehouse District (race start) and open to the public! There will be a heated beer tent featuring Guinness, Miller Lite, and Gibby's Fries and Mouse Ears. The Wild Sully's will be performing all morning for your entertainment. The awards ceremony for the racers will also be held inside the tent. The public is encouraged to attend to show support for the runners!

Packet Pick Up will be on Friday, March 11 from 4 - 7PM at the West Bay Holiday Inn in the Leelanau rooms.
