GAYLORD, MI -- The Otsego Memorial Hospital Foundation will be accepting applications for healthcare scholarships through Friday, April 1st to be awarded this July by the Foundation Board of Directors. The scholarships are open to students of all ages who reside in the Hospital’s service area, primarily Atlanta, Elmira, Frederic, Gaylord, Johannesburg, Lewiston, Vanderbilt, Waters, and Wolverine. The Foundation scholarships are targeted toward students who are currently enrolled in a healthcare related program or healthcare workers looking to further their education. Applicants must meet specific scholarship criteria and have proof of acceptance in a healthcare field of study at an accredited college or university.
“The OMH Foundation scholarship program is designed to accomplish two goals,” states Christie Perdue, OMH Foundation and Marketing Director, “First, to enable the Foundation to provide valuable assistance to individuals pursuing in a career in healthcare, and secondly, to increase awareness of the various career opportunities within the healthcare industry.”
The OMH Foundation Office must receive all scholarship applications no later than Friday, April 1, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and makes their recommendation to the Foundation’s Board of Directors in May. The Foundation anticipates awarding up to $3,000 in scholarships this year.
