TRAVERSE CITY -- Some brave volunteers in Traverse City jumped into the icy water to show support for the 2011 Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge.
The group of polar plungers jumped into West Grand Traverse Bay this afternoon to raise money and awareness for local athletes.
The daring plungers collected donations for Special Olympics, sported fun costumes and then jumped into the frigid winter water.
Awards were handed out for the most creative costume and the best jump into the water.
