Five Northern Michigan communities are heading to the polls Tuesday.

In Wexford County, Cadillac residents will decide if property taxes in the city limits should increase to pay for treating Milfoil in Lake Cadillac.

The issue on the ballot would raise the taxes in Cadillac .50 mill ($.50 on each $1,000 of taxable value) for three years, from 2011-2013.

In Benzie County, residents of Inland Township will be deciding on the recall of Marilyn Wareham, Township Clerk.

Chippewa County's Pickford Township residents are deciding on a bond to pay for a new Fire & Ambulance building in the Township. The amount of the tax bond is not to exceed $1,107,000.  The bond would mean a property tax hike in the amount of $1.430 per $1,000 of taxable value in the first year.  It would then decrease to $1.298 per $1,000 of taxable value until the debt is paid.

Residents in the Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District will decide on a school millage proposal. The 1.25 mills ($1.25 on each $1,000 of taxable value) would last for five years and help the school district provide more programs for students.

Roscommon County's Markey Township residents are voting on a new Township Supervisor, and Township Trustee.

Polls are open until 8:00 p.m..  To find out your polling location you can CLICK HERE.

The next election day following Tuesday is May 3.
