TRAVERSE CITY -- The Father Fred Frostbite Food-drive is over and organizers say they didn't meet their goal this year.
The non-profit hoped to bring in two truck loads of food, they managed to fill one and a half.
On a positive note, they raised 68 thousand dollars in cash donations; and that money will be matched by the organization.
This match continues until the end of the month and they hope to raise 75 thousand.
Operations Director for Father Fred, Norm Bamberg said, "so we're about seven thousand short and there's seven days left in the month. So, people can still go online or stop by Father Fred and donate and their money will be doubled."
The money will be used to buy food and other supplies that weren't donated during the food-drive.
It will also be used to give assistance to those facing utility shut-off.
