EMMET CO. -- Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin is pleased to announce that he has obtained six emergency flotation devices from the Nebulus Corporation out of Lakeville, Minnesota.

Sheriff Wallin had been put in contact with John Weinel/CEO of Nebulus, who offered to provide the Emmet County Sheriff's Office with six free Nebulus Emergency Flotation Devices.

The Nebulus Emergency Flotation Device (EFD) is a compact, fast-deploying, portable life-saving tool engineered for ice and water rescue situations. It lets a first responder do what they've never been able to do before: initiate a solo rescue without having to wait for back-up. The Nebulus weighs 17 pounds and has a flotation buoyancy of 1000 pounds once inflated.

Sheriff Wallin provided one Nebulus Flotation Device to the Michigan State Police Petoskey Post, Petoskey Department of Public Safety, and the Harbor Springs Police Department. The Cheboygan County Sheriff Office also received several of these emergency flotation devices and provided the Mackinaw City Police Department with one unit.
