BENZIE AND MANISTEE COUNTIES -- Tonight, there's a new way for the public to get their questions answered about wind energy in Benzie and Manistee counties.

It's called the Understanding Wind Initiative.

The main focus is to get the public involved in asking questions and getting answers about wind energy.

Representatives from townships affected by the proposed wind energy project from Duke Energy will meet over the next few months.

The Executive Director for the Alliance for Economic Success, Cindy Fuller said, "and to date, there really hasn't been a concerted collaborative effort to try to really understand wind energy alternatives, their implications, their benefits in a true community focused setting."

For the next three weeks, the team will gather questions from any interested parties.

After the questions have been submitted, experts will be consulted and the answers will be reported to the public.

For more information, you may contact the Alliance for Economic Success at 231-723-4325 or through email: jami@allianceforeconomicsuccess.com.
