BOYNE FALLS, MI -- With Valentine’s Day on a Monday, many couples celebrated over the weekend.

In fact some local couples took their love for each-other to new heights.

35 couples went to the top of Boyne Mountain Sunday to either get married or to renew their vows.

It was part of Boyne’s "Marry Me and Ski Free Mountaintop Matrimony" and couples could get married, and then ski for free for the rest of the day.

"It's really unique and it's a different way to say I love you to your spouse," said Boyne Mountain’s Erin Ernst.

"We love to ski, and we've been skiing since we first met about 25 years ago, so we though we would get cleaned up, do it, and have some fun," said Yvonne and Dennis Jakubowski, who renewed their vows.

This is the second year Boyne Mountain has done “Marry Me and Ski Free.”
