TRAVERSE CITY -- The United Way is known for helping people in need and directing them to the correct services or programs. The problem is that sometimes people don't even know certain programs exist that could potentially help them. That's where the 2-1-1 system comes into play
Executive director of the United Way of Northwest Michigan, Steve Wade sat down with 7&4's Melissa Smith to talk about the 2-1-1 social service system and how people in need can use it. He says all communities along the west side of the state can now access the system.
