Public safety is a huge priority for the National Weather Service and this week they want to make sure you know what resources are available to you.
One of the tools that helps ensure that safety is a regular weather broadcast, rain or shine, shared on an all hazards radio network.
This week, officials are emphasizing the importance of being prepared through NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards Awareness Week.
The National Weather Service Lead Forecaster for the Gaylord office, Brian Adams told us, "Out in a more rural area, where you don't have access to the internet, you don't have access to a very good tv or cable or satellite tv reception, chances are very good you will have NOAA weather radio coverage where you're at with 95% coverage across the country."
Advisories, Watches and Warnings are broadcast as soon as they're issued.
Countless lives have been saved thanks to advanced warning of severe weather.
