TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse City students went to work Saturday to help feed the community and countries around the world in need.
Over 100 students teamed up with the Kiwanis Club of Traverse City for a "Kids Against Hunger" event.
The kids put on their aprons and prepared over 10,000 meals that will be sent to disaster-ridden countries.
About 30% of the meals prepared will go to deserving families in the Grand Traverse community.
Each package has enough daily nutrients for a family of six.
