GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- A Traverse City man is dead after police say he lost control of his car and was struck by a van.
It happened around 7:40 PM Monday on Beitner Road, near Williams Road in Grand Traverse County.
The Michigan State Police say a car driven by Christopher Spiers was heading west on Beitner Road when he lost control and crossed the center line.
Spiers car was hit by a van heading in the opposite direction.
Spiers was killed at the scene. The driver of the van, Gregory Koniczka of Traverse City was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
