DAFTER -- A homicide investigation in Ontario Canada is crossing the border into Chippewa County.

Ontario Provincial Police and the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office are searching a landfill in Dafter for any evidence in connection with the death of Wesley Hallam.  Hallam's dismembered body was found in an embankment in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario earlier this month.

Garbage taken from the downtown area where the murder happened was taken to the dump in Dafter Michigan by an Ontario disposal company.

The process of searching the dump will take several days to complete.

Ronald Mitchell from Sault, Ontario was arrested on January 11 and charged with second degree murder.  On January 30, investigators arrested Dylan Jocko also of Sault, Ontario.  Jocko is charged with one count of accessory after the fact in relation to the murder.
