EMPIRE, MI -- Almost 100 people geared up and climbed on their snowmobiles for a very special cause.

Sunday was the annual Roy Taghon Memorial Snowmobile Ride in Empire.

Taghon died in a tragic snowmobile accident about three years ago.

Family members said he loved snowmobiles and music, so to honor his memory they host a charity ride each year.

Proceeds benefit the Roy Taghon Scholarship Fund, which provides an annual music scholarship at Glen Lake High School.
