The 17th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-Off made sure to warm up the winter weekend!

Thirteen restaurants shared 16 of their favorite chili recipes at the Saturday event.

The eateries competed in seven different categories as well as the overall favorite, the “People’s Choice” award.  Categories included:  1-Alarm, 2-Alarm, 3-Alarm, Seafood, Vegetarian, No Bean and White.

Approximately 1,400 people attended the cook-off with each casting a vote for their favorites in each category. 

More than $14,000 was raised from the event  in 2010 to help fund Downtown community events such as Friday Night Live. Revenue totals will be calculated this week.  Winners included:

  • 1-Alarm – Hanna Bistro

  • 2-Alarm –  Union Cantina

  • 3-Alarm-  Soul Hole

  • Seafood – Scalawags Whitefish & Chips

  • Vegetarian – Oryana: Lake St. Cafe

  • White – Mt. Holiday

  • No Bean – Soul Hole

  • People’s Choice – Mt. Holiday, White

Competing restaurants included:

  • Cherry Republic

  • The Dish Cafe

  • Hanna Bistro

  • Lil Bo Pub & Grille

  • Minervas: Park Place Hotel

  • Mt. Holiday

  • Omelette Shoppe

  • Oryana: Lake St. Cafe

  • Prime Time Pub

  • The Red Mesa Grill

  • Scalawags Whitefish & Chips

  • Soul Hole

  • Union Cantina
