Driver lost control and rolled his truck into oncoming traffic.
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- A man was killed Thursday in a rollover accident on M-72 near Bates Road. State police investigators say around 8:30 a.m. Thursday the 63-year-old Grayling man lost control of his 2005 Chevrolet pickup. The truck overturned and was hit by a 2002 Ford van headed in the opposite direction.
The man driving the pickup truck died at the scene. The 59-year-old woman driving the van was taken to Munson Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries. No names have been released until the family of the deceased has been notified.
Investigators say alcohol is not suspected as a factor in this crash. There were no passengers in either vehicle. The crash is still under investigation.
