TRAVERSE CITY -- A Grand Traverse County deputy who was fired and then rehired, is off the beat once again.

Robert Sillers resigned from the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office January 11, just days after he was given his job back.

The Undersheriff tells 7 & 4 News Sillers quit for personal reasons.

Sillers and another deputy, Mark Noffke were convicted for failing to arrest Traverse City Police Officer Joseph Soffredine for drunk driving last February.

Both deputies were fired in May, 2010. Earlier this month, an arbitrator ordered the deputies to be rehired.
