MUSKEGON -- The Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center at P.J. Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon is holding a “Michigan Wildflower” photo contest.
You can submit a special photo from last year or take an adventure through the woods, fields or wetlands this spring and try your luck at capturing the beauty of a native Michigan wildflower.
Photos must be of a Michigan native wildflower. Entries are limited to two photos per person. They must be securely matted without a frame or glass, with a minimum size of 8 x10 and maximum size of 11 x 16.
There is an entry fee of $3 dollars per photo. You are asked to include the photographer’s name, address, email, phone number and name of wildflower on the back.
The deadline for submission is 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. A team of volunteers with knowledge of photography will judge the photos.
Winners will be announced May 7th. Three winners will be chosen. First, second and third place winners will receive gift cards of $100, $50 and $25 courtesy of the Camera Shop of Muskegon.
Photos may be submitted by mail or delivered to: Gillette Nature Association, 6585 Lake Harbor Rd., Muskegon, MI 49441. Winning photos will be on display at the Gillette Visitor Center through June 4.
Entries may be picked up on or after June 4th.
