TRAVERSE CITY -- Those curious about the world of renewable energy took advantage of one of Michigan's largest energy expos Saturday in Traverse City.
The Grand Vision Energy Network and Northwestern Michigan College hosted the free expo that kicked off at nine Saturday morning.
Free to all that attended-- it featured over 60 energy industry experts introducing folks to new technologies and explaining the rapidly changing field of energy use and conservation.
NMC Technical Division Director Ed Bailey says, "90% of the people are interested in renewable energy, green energy but only 3% actually do that, and one of the biggest barriers to get form that 3% to 90% people don't know where to start they don't know enough about these systems they don't know how to implement them in their house how it work in their businesses, so what were trying to do today is showcase that--give folks a chance to come out and say I like technology, I want to see it, I want to learn a little more about it."
There was also educational sessions offered on topics including renewable energy systems, energy audits, lighting and geothermal systems.
