CHEBOYGAN, MI -- Cheboygan Memorial Hospital is not going to be purchased by Michigan Rural Healthcare Preservation.
7&4 first told you of the deal back in September.
The non-profit planned to take control of the hospital and bring in specialty services which would help make the hospital viable.
The agreement expired at the beginning of this year, and the deal has been vacated.
"No matter if we're on our own or with another system, we still have to do what's right to keep this hospital viable and still provide the quality care to our patients," said hospital spokesperson Mike Grisdale.
Grisdale says the hospital will look for other partnership opportunities to help the hospital's future.
As far as Michigan Rural Healthcare Preservation, Cheboygan will continue to partner with them for specialty services offered at the hospital.
