TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Former State Senator Jason Allen is now officially part of the Snyder Administration.
The Traverse City native was appointed as a top official in the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The move was made official Saturday in Lansing.
At one point in time, Allen was considered to be a potential candidate for the lieutenant governor position
Now, he says he is looking forward to heading a department that is crucial to veterans in our state.
“Our objective is to make Michigan more of a friendly pro-veteran state. Whether that is for young men and woman coming back from conflict…or helping with our World War II and Korean veterans to access services,” Allen said.
Allen was first elected to the Senate back in 2002.
