TRAVERSE CITY -- On Friday, January 7th, the Traverse City Film Festival and the State Theatre are kicking off a Music Before Film series featuring TCFF volunteer musicians playing before the State Theatre's evening shows every Friday until summer arrives.

The first-ever event will feature Windy Ridge Trio playing before the 6 pm and 8:30 pm screenings of "The King's Speech," and Emma Cook playing before the 10:50 pm Friday Night Flick, "Dark Side of the Rainbow."

Musical acts will perform for 20 minutes before the film, so that folks can come early and enjoy the awesome music.

To start off the series a 6 pm show on Friday, January 7th will also be TCFF Musician Appreciation Night. TCFF performers from past festivals are officially invited to attend the "The King's Speech" with a guest.
