Benzie County Sheriff's Office 1st K-9 dies

BENZIE COUNTY -- The Benzie County Sheriff's Office first K-9 died at his handler's home.

Sheriff Rory Heckman says the dog, named Hausso, died of natural causes at the age of 11. He served for four years in the field with his handler Deputy Mark Ketz before he retired due to health reasons.

On May 25th, the Benzie County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a golf outing to raise funds for the K-9 replacement fund. The outing is scheduled at the Crystal Lake Golf Club and will be named the "Hausso Memorial Golf Outing."
