CHEBOYGAN, MI -- If you're a Ford kind of guy, and you shop in Cheboygan, there are new owners of the Ford and Lincoln dealership.
Fernelius Auto Group took control of the dealership last month.
The group already owned one dealership in the community, but after hearing the previous owner of the ford dealership was having challenges, Fernelius stepped in, took over, and helped retain 17 jobs in the community.
"We're very involved all across the Northern Michigan area, so we want to continue that, we're growing, we're kind of putting our money where our mouth is up here," said Jerry Kanka of Fernelius.
Jerry Kanka says the group believes Ford and Lincoln will continue to grow and sell more because of the new product, which helped in the decision.
And as business gets better, he says Fernelius will start hiring more people.
