GREILICKVILLE -- Area environmental leaders are asking for your help tonight to make sure a contaminated site in Leelanau County gets cleaned up.

The Environmental Protection Agency has been cleaning up soil and water contamination from the former Grand Traverse Overall Supply Company for several years. The dry cleaning business was located next to Norris Elementary School on Cherry Bend Road in Greilickville. Recently the EPA discovered that the contamination is more extensive than originally thought. They expect it will now cost an extra $1.2 million to finish the cleanup.

Since EPA cleanup funds are stretched the community needs lots of support to secure them. They are asking for you to write the EPA asking for them to finish. Community support helps secure funds.
