Suspects Arrested for Vadalizing Christmas Store

FRANKENMUTH, MI (AP) -- Police say they've caught four Grinches and are hunting down a fifth, all suspected of vandalizing Frankenmuth's Bronner's Christmas Wonderland on Christmas Day.

Frankenmuth police say the vandals pummeling a life-sized Santa and his reindeer, split a nutcracker in half and smashed and dismembering several other holiday displays.

Damage is estimated at $30,000 to $40,000 at the store, which draws visitors nationwide with its collections of Christmas-themed crafts.

Police in nearby Genesee County tell The Bay City Times and TV stations WNEM and WJRT that they arrested four males ages 17 to 21 on Tuesday and are seeking a fifth.

Genesee Township police say they acted on a tip in making the arrests. The suspects are being held while Saginaw County prosecutors decide on charges.
