TRAVERSE CITY -- Some major changes could be coming to a local ski hill.
Tonight, the Traverse City Commission meeting will determine the future of a tubing area at Hickory Hills.
Officials have been considering the possibility of creating additional revenue for the city by installing a tube run in addition to the ski hills at Hickory Hills.
Director of Public Services, Bob Cole, said, "Really, what we want to do is answer the question once and for all, because it's been speculated for years, can we put in one of these or should we be looking to other revenue sources other than a tubing area."
If the motion passes, the first step will be to conduct a study of Hickory Hills and then, based on those findings, go forward with design and construction.
