BALDWIN -- Hundreds are ready to compete for job openings at a prison in Lake County which is slated to reopen in May.

The GEO Group is currently taking applications for 25 of the 510 positions that will need to be filled at the North Lake Correctional Facility in Baldwin.  The first positions need to be filled by January.

Last month the State of California signed an agreement to bring up to 2,580 inmates to the Prison starting May 1, 2011.

The reopening of the prison was good news for the community, which struggled with hundreds of job losses from its main employer, the GEO Prison, when it closed in 2005.
