MECOSTA -- Mecosta deputies say speed and bad weather are to blame for an accident that sent six people to the hospital Saturday night.

The accident happened on US 131 South Bound.

Investigators say a van of 13 people lost control and struck a guardrail causing it to flip over onto it's side.

Six of the passengers were transported to the Mecosta County Medical Center for minor injuries.
