TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Traverse City Central High School students put on their teaching hats today at the first annual Super Science Saturday.
The high school cafeteria was filled with kids eager to learn by doing some hands-on science. It was up to the high school students to explain their experiments and demonstrations to the kids.
There were dozens of science stations the kids could stop at--including some about lasers, slime, wind tunnels, sand, robots and electricity.
Traverse City Central High School Technology Teacher Michael George says, "Science is amazing, it’s fun, without science we wouldn't have the quality of life that we have today. There would be no cell phones, televisions, video cameras. We'd still be living in caves, hunting deer with spears. So today we have our older kids teaching our younger elementary kids about science so it's a very natural thing."
Along with promoting science all of the donations today will benefit the Traverse City Central High School’s robotic team.
