It's a simple gadget for all of those modern day gadgets.

WILLIAMSBURG -- At first glance it looks something like a toy, maybe a medical device, but the plastic light weight stand is actually called 3 Feet and it's more of a technology accessory.

"The neat thing is it folds and sits in your pocket, yet it's robust enough to hold your I-Pod and I-Phone," says inventor, Albert Werth.

Werth is a journey tool and dye maker by trade.  In fact, it's his life long passion.  Over time though he switched gears and now works at Twin Bay Medical just outside of Elk Rapids between Antrim and Grand Traverse Counties, where he manufactures bio-tech pharmaceutical products.

It's this extensive background that helped him come up with a unique concept.

"The development actually lead to development of 3 Feet, and I-Pad stand....From a creative standpoint I was on a flight and just got a new I-Pad and had to hold it for two hours  It lead me to want to create something," says Werth.

So, that's exactly what Werth did and now seven months later he's creating holder for I-Pads, I-Phones and pretty much any cell phone.

"Made in Michigan, south of Elk Rapids at Twin Bay Medical.  It's made from five parts and injection molded and assembled, super green process.  Every 3 Feet is manufactured from 25% recycled product, so all parts re-grinded," says Werth.

And in the world of ever changing cell phones and technological gadgets, Werth says 3 Feet is simple, but it works.

"It's got silicone non-skids so won't skid on your desk.  You can put in a dishwasher...Also, you can use it for charging, it's very fun product," says Werth.
