TRAVERSE CITY -- The Traverse City Area Public Schools Transportation Department is holding bus evacuation drills at schools across the area this week.
The drills are designed to provide TCAPS' bus drivers with hands-on experience in carrying out proper evacuation procedures.
All the drills will take place on school property and will be supervised by Transportation Department Managers.
The evacuation drills will also take place during the months of April and May. Parents and students will receive an AlertNow message from your school the night before your school's scheduled drill.
Wednesday's drills will take place at the following schools:
Blair Elementary, Central Grade School at TC West Middle School, Interlochen Community School, TC East Middle School, TC West Middle School, TC West Senior High School at TC West Middle School, Willow Hill Elementary School.
Thursday's drills will take place at the following schools:
Cherry Knoll Elementary School at TC East Middle School, Courtade Elementary School at TC East Middle School, Eastern Elementary School, Old Mission Peninsula School, TC East Middle School, TC Central High School at TC East Middle School (except routes 600-603 which will occur at TC Central High School), Traverse City High School
