LANSING, MI (AP) -- Michigan lawmakers are set to return to the state Capitol as the end of the 2009-10 legislative session approaches.

Both the House and Senate are scheduled to be in session this week. Lawmakers will continue their so-called "lame duck" session held before a new Legislature and incoming governor Rick Snyder take office in January.

Lawmakers might finalize a plan to distribute more than $300 million in federal money to Michigan schools. But it's unlikely lawmakers will complete a separate plan that would help Detroit schools and others facing deficits by selling off a stake in the state's future tobacco lawsuit settlements.

It's not clear if lawmakers will agree on a way to raise more money for the state's Pure Michigan tourism advertising program.
