TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Santa arrived in style at the kick off event for the 2010 Toys for Tots toy drive.
Just after 12 p.m. Saturday, Santa landed in a Coast Guard Helicopter at the Great Wolf Lodge.
Toys for Tots organizers said they are anticipating a dramatic increase in toy requests from the communities they serve.
Some counties are asking for a 50% increase from last year, officials said.
In 2009, the local chapter of Toys for Tots collected and delivered 21,000 toys to more than 6,500 kids.
