Wednesday night at the City of Mackinac Island commission meeting, Mayor Margaret Doud recommended that all three ferry companies to be granted two year contracts for service to the island. The council discussed and then agreed to reject all three ferry company proposals.
A special meeting will be held Monday November 22nd at 9:30 a.m to discuss the mayor’s proposal. All three ferry companies must submit new applications to the city before it's final. Details are in the works for the contract with the three ferry companies, but they will all be the same.
