You may remember the late Sergeant Finch who was the Traverse City police officer who died in a shootout in May of 1998. Now it's his brother whose life is on the line.

Doug Finch is battling a heart problem. He's traveled all over the country for help but his condition keeps getting worse.

Now doctors say his last option is a stem cell treatment in Mexico.

Doug Finch says, "It's a last hope and I want to help others I already have eight people just from calling that want to get stem cell therapy and four of them are on their last leg, I'm on my last leg...it is a last resort but they are having a 95% success rate with it."

The operation is scheduled for November 23rd but he still needs to raise money to get it.

The cost of the operation is $30,000 and he needs about $10,000 more.

You can drop off your check donation at: YMCA which is on 3000 Racquet Club Drive in Traverse City.
