KALKASKA CO. -- The Kalkaska County Sheriff's office is investigating a deadly crash on M-72 and McNaulty Hill Road.

The area was shut down for about an hour while medical crews landed a helicopter nearby.

Kalkaska County Sheriff David Israel says around 9:50 a.m. a truck turning left onto M-72 from Hill Road hit the motorcycle. The motorcycle burst into flames. The driver of the motorcycle, 29-year old CJ Lorenz of Kalkaska, was pinned under the left rear wheel of the truck. He was life-flighted to Munson Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries and has been released. He told Sheriff Israel he didn't see the motorcycle because the sun was in his eyes. The accident remains under investigation.
