TRAVERSE CITY -- Holiday shopping is definitely on the horizon and if a flat screen TV is on your shopping list then you can expect to get some early deals, as there seems to be an excess in supply this year.

Max's Salesman Steve Michael says already this month prices are dropping and it is in an effort to sell their large holiday supply of flat screens. Michael says, "Well it's always about price, I mean if you're going to sale TV's you want to drop the price and you'll see them move out the door."

General Manager of Best Buy Robert Randall agrees and says, " This month in November you're going to see a lot of sales coming up and a lot of deals coming up on Fridays and Saturdays...in particular they will be deemed as a kind of mini green Fridays."

Randall is confident that they will sell their large supply of flat screens because there is a big demand for them and says, "Year after year we've seen an increase in demand for big screen televisions mainly due to just people's desires for home entertainment."

This is a desire that is more easily affordable to buyers as the price of flat screens has steadily dropped in the last six years.

Randall says, "If you look back five years ago plasmas TVs when they first came out they were $10,000 dollars,  now you can buy a 42 inch for 700 bucks."

Both Randall and Michael agree that there will be plenty of deals for shoppers this holiday season.  They also say that if you are a true bargain shopper then be ready to come in on Black Friday which is a day for huge discounts.
