TRAVERSE CITY -- Michigan residents wake up Wednesday morning with a new governor.
Michigan businessman Rick Snyder declared victory Tuesday night in the state's governor's race. Snyder, the man who described himself as a nerd early on in the campaign, has defeated Democrat Virg Bernero.
Tuesday night, Snyder told supporters that now is the time for a new form of customer friendly government in Michigan to help Michiganders succeed.
"It is time for a new form of government and what does that government look like? It's simple, it's customer service government to treat you the citizen as the customer. We need to look at life through your eyes how do we help you succeed. When we spend a dollar of revenue, we show you value for money that we're making a difference in real people's lives.... that's the government you deserve and that's the government you're going to get," says Synder.
