LONG LAKE TOWNSHIP -- There are still about 30,000 power outages in the state of Michigan from those harsh winds that blew through earlier this week.
One area in Grand Traverse County was hit particularly hard. This was Long Lake Township.
Early Wednesday afternoon eight spans of transmission and distribution lines went down next to a substation that feeds the Long Lake Township area.
This caused some serious damage leaving a lot of people in the dark and as of right now over 1,000 people in Long Lake Township still have no power.
Consumers Energy Area Manager Bob Gluszewski says, "Not only do we have to replace the lines but they're putting in eight poles. Then once they put the transmission lines in they'll put the distribution lines on so it is a long process but their continuing to work on it...difficult situation but they'll stay there until they can get everyone back on."
As far as Grand Traverse County there are still about 2,500 customers without power.
Gluszewski says that he hopes most customers will have their power back on by midnight Friday.
