TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse Bay Marine is experiencing a spike in business this month as many boaters take their boats out the water and into storage.

The winterizing of boats starts up as early as Labor Day weekend but Traverse Bay Marine Manager Bob Adair says the busiest month by far is October.

From October 1st to October 30th, they winterize as many as 275 boats and 200 jet skis.

Adair also says,"We are experiencing 20-30% increase over any other month of the year."

Traverse Bay Marine normally makes up to $50,000 dollars just this month of October.

This money is mostly from repair issues on the boats about to winterized.
