ANN ARBOR, MI (AP) -- Former President Bill Clinton and U.S. Rep. John Dingell are sharing the stage to promote Dingell's re-election.
The two Democrats appeared together Sunday evening before more than 1,000 people in the University of Michigan's Rackham Auditorium.
The audience had to wait three hours to see the men after Clinton's earlier stop in Detroit to promote gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero started late.
Dingell is running against Republican cardiologist Rob Steele. A recent poll showed Dingell leading by 17 points in the 15th District.
Clinton, who honored Dingell last year as the House's
longest-serving member, wants to make Dingell's re-election prospects watertight.
Clinton also was to appear with 7th District Rep. Mark Schauer in Battle Creek.
