Power outage leaves hundreds in the dark

LEELANAU CO. -- Hundreds of homes are without power in one Leelanau County community after a car crashed into a power pole.

It happened Thursday afternoon. Officials with Cherryland Electric say about 400 homes in Bingham Township are affected by the outage.

The power pole is being replaced but the outage is expected to continue until about 8:30 PM Thursday.
