TRAVERSE CITY -- A local fast food restaurant helped raise cash for some Traverse City students.

The owners of Wendy's in Traverse City donated 50% of dining room sales all day Tuesday to Courtade Elementary School.

The fundraiser is part of a literacy program aimed at improving school supplies and learning opportunities for students.

The owner of Wendy's, Kelli Sefton says the final tally of the event was $690.92.  Sefton is happy to also report that the PTO at Courtade plans to match the money raised to help with the goal.

The sefton's also own the Wendy's in Petoskey and will  hold another fundraiser at that location on November 9th. Proceeds from that event will benefit Lincoln Elementary School.
