GAYLORD, MI -- It takes a lot of gain to make it to the big-time fame, but a former Gaylord graduate is well on her way.
If you're about to see The Social Network, you'll see Alecia Svensen.
Svensen is a 2009 graduate of Gaylord High School and had a speaking roll in the movie about Facebook.
She moved to Hollywood right out of high school, auditioned, and said the casting director pulled her aside and said she has the roll if she wants it.
She accepted, and if you pay attention to the movie, in about 10 minutes in, you'll see a local Northern Michigan girl making it big.
"I'm one of those people that get this email, and I'm like, oh my gosh, that's my roommate, it's really small, it's really quick, but it's significant for me. I'm very happy with the way it worked, I'm actually just happy they didn't cut my part," said Svensen.
She said her roll getting cut was her number one fear.
Svensen plans to head back out to Hollywood in hopes of getting more roles in upcoming movies.
She said this role is exactly what she needed for her audition tape.
