DUNCAN BAY -- The Coast Guard is investigating a second oil covered beach in Cheboygan County.

Friday night U.S.C.G assessment teams were patrolling an area in Duncan Bay when they discovered a second oiled beach about 175 yards long.

Earlier in the week a resident contacted officials after discovering a heavily oiled beach at the Cheboygan State Park.

Investigators do not believe the second oiled beach is from a new spill, but are conducting tests to make sure.

The cleanup effort is complete in the original area at the Cheboygan State Park and is now shifted to the new beach area.

The cause of the spill is still being investigated.
